Edge of the Road: Wild South
A wild week at the edge of Costa Rica, chasing endless waves, jungle adventures, and the kind of freedom you only find in the ocean.
Overview
Escape to the wild side of Southern Costa Rica. Tucked between dense jungle and the Pacific Ocean, Pavones is one of those rare places that still feels far away from everything. Famous for its legendary long left-hand wave, warm water, wild coastline, and laid-back local vibe, this is a place where life slows down and the ocean sets the pace. For one week, we’ll leave the busy surf towns behind and head south to experience Pavones the way we love it most — from the water. Days are spent surfing, exploring new breaks, swimming, sharing good food, and soaking up the jungle around us. Evenings are slow, simple, and full of good conversation, good food, and the kind of tired that only comes from a full day in the ocean. This is for women who want more than a traditional surf camp. It’s an intimate, small-group adventure where surfing is at the center, but there’s also space to disconnect from everyday life, reconnect with yourself, meet other women, and experience one of Costa Rica’s most special surf destinations. Six women. Seven nights. Endless waves. Wild jungle. Southern Costa Rica. All levels welcome
Hosts
Dani
Dani is the founder of Mindful Waves, a surf coaching and surf therapy community born from her own love affair with the ocean and a belief that surfing can change much more than your ability to catch a wave.
After building her life around surfing and the ocean in Costa Rica, she created Mindful Waves to bring women together through surf, adventure, connection, and a little bit of getting out of their comfort zones.
Equal parts surfer, entrepreneur, and experience-maker, Dani is always dreaming up the next wave, trip, or way to bring women into the water. She’s here to make you feel welcome, push you a little, and remind you that some of the best things in life happen when you just go for it.
Mana
Mana first learned to surf in the cold waters of British Columbia before following her passion for surfing south to Costa Rica in search of warmer water, wild waves, and a life closer to the ocean.
She’s been living, surfing, and teaching women here ever since, bringing a mix of creativity, adventure, and playful energy to everything she does. When she’s not in the water, you’ll probably find her somewhere in nature, dreaming up her next creative project.
She’s here to get you stoked, help you feel at home in the water, and make sure you have a seriously good time along the way.
